Tale of part-time postman Granger hastily robbing a ball of money, and finding himself engaged wilh gangsters and slaughter, is reinforced by striking N.Y.C. locations and stark cinematography by Joseph Ruttenberg. Insomnia: Will Dormer is an LA detective who finds himself in Alaska, trying to track down a murderer. He gets help from local cop, Hap, as they try and locate Walter Finch, the prime suspect in the case. Once they find him, it is a game of cat and mouse in the Alaskan summer, as Walter proves to be very elusive.
Defending Your Life : Brooks dies in an automobile crash and finds himself in Judgment City, where Tom is designated to guard his life before a tribunal and, where he falls in love with associate candidate Streep, who’s too excellent to be real. Flawed, like most of Brooks’ films, although full of ludicrous notions and difficult to loathe. Cast includes Albert Brooks, Meryl Streep, Tear Tom, Lee Permit, Buck Henry, George D.
