The James Bond 007 movies are the highest money-wise winning English language movie franchise to date. The English author Ian Fleming created James Bond 007 in 1953. Mr. Bond was featured in twelve novels and two short story collections. The movie franchise started with “Dr. No” in 1962.
Ian Fleming, the creator of James Bond, passed away back in 1964 but the heroic character of James Bond lives on in novels by up to five other writers, such as Robert Markham, the pen name for Kingsley Amis, John Pearson, Raymond Benson, John Gardner and Sebastian Faulks. Christopher Woods novelized two screenplays and various other writers’ wrote unauthorized versions of James Bond.
There have been 22 pictures to date and a 23rd is promised at this point in the James Bond franchise. The first show was from the year 1962, “Dr. No” and on October 31, 2008 the most recent came out, which was “Quantum of Solace”.
Sean Connery is contemplated to be the primary James Bond. He played the character in 6 movies beginning with “Dr. No” in 1962, followed by “From Russia with Love” in 1963, “Goldfinger:” in 1964, “Thunderball” in 1965, “You Only Live Twice” from 1967 and “Diamonds Are Forever” from 1971.
In 1969, Sean Connery took a break from being James Bond for the film “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service”. George Lazenby played James Bond in that picture. He was the only artist of all of the James Bond stars to merely work in one show.
Roger Moore then took over the starring part. He played Bond in 7 movies from the 1973’s “Live and Let Die”, “The Man with the Golden Gun” in 1974″, “The Spy who Loved Me” in 1977, “Moonraker” from 1979, “For Your Eyes Only” in 1981, “Octopussy” in 1983, and ” A View to a Kill” in1985.
Timothy Dalton took over the reins in 1987 for “The Living Daylights” and “License to Kill” in 1989. In 1995, “Goldeneye” came out with Pierce Brosnan in the prime role. Pierce Brosnan played in 3 further films, “Tomorrow Never Dies” from 1997, “The World Is Not Enough” from 1999 and “Die Another Day” from 2002.
At present the lead part of James Bond belongs to Daniel Craig, the only fair-haired James Bond so far. He was Bond in “Casino Royale” in 2006 and “Quantum of Solace” in 2008. One more motion picture is in the works now, as of yet untitled and referred to as only James Bond 23.
