Many are beginning to appreciate the huge potential of blogging and its influence on building credibility and reputation but in order to generate this type of result the art of making your posts compelling should be consciously developed. If you are directing huge traffic to your site but the content is junk, you achieve nothing. Fortunately you don’t need a degree to write compelling posts. This skill can be easily developed.

There are many things to blog about – providing fresh content that is helpful and valuable to your readers;reviewing products to help buyers make informed decisions or sharing you opinions and thoughts on news publications.

As I reiterated earlier, the skills for writing compelling blog posts can be easily developed, all depends on your determination and interest.Writing understandable, factual and search engine optimized content requires some guidelines and below are some few which are key to success.

* Keep your sentences and paragraphs short.Long sentences usually serve as a deterrent.

* Make your titles catchy to attract attention but at the same time search engine optimized.

* Inspire desire – For a reader to purchase a product you are promoting they should be convinced that it is a must have, thus it is essential that your writing generates that compelling desire for the product. If you are writing for information purposes only you can apply the same principle – the reader should be convinced enough to read more and stick around for long.

* Be more informal.- It puts the reader at ease.

* Spice your blog with some humor. A little amusement makes reading exciting.

*Write like it counts. It gives an impression you should be taken seriously.

* White space is an asset.Use it It makes reading easier. Nothing is harder to read than a solid chunk of text.

* Use bullet points wherever necessary. They effectively bring out the salient points.

* Use subheadings regularly,it makes it easier to scan the blog for specific interests.

* Select a tone and maintain its consistency throughout the blog.

* Call for action – Make sure you include that call for action in your post or blog. There is always something you want your readers to do; leave a comment ,purchase a product or subscribe. A smart blogger ensures that readers stick around for long and take an action.

* Always do a spell check before posting your blogs.Too many errors gives a doubtful impression.

* Don’t include any irrelevant points – Readers may miss your core points.

* Keep out slang terms as some readers are easily offended.Make use of words that are understood by many people.Be conscious of the fact that your readers come from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds.

* Keep abbreviations to the barest minimum – It makes understanding difficult.

Blogging requires sincerity and dedication and in wanting to share ideas, thoughts and information these attributes should be felt in every blog post.Readers readily appreciate that.
